Rami Bustami, PhD, MBA

Dr. Bustami joined Alfaisal University in January 2018 as Associate Professor of Operations and Project Management and Healthcare Management (HCM) and is currently in charge of the MBA - HCM Track. He holds a PhD in Biostatistics from the School of Public Health, University of Leuven, Belgium, and MBA in HCM from Stillman School of Business, Seton Hall University, New Jersey, USA. He did his postdoctoral training at the Department of Methodology and Statistics, Utrecht University, the Netherlands, from 2000-2001 and worked as a Senior Consultant at a not-for-profit Health Research Organization in Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA, 2001-2006.

 

Dr. Bustami’s teaching and research experience spans 20+ years across a number of highly reputable academic and research institutions in USA and the Middle East. His current research is focused on Health Services Management, Health Services Research and Healthcare Quality. After earning his PhD in 2000, Dr. Bustami served as a senior HCM and Statistics Consultant on several Federal Committees on Health Policy within the US Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). He also held the positions of Associate Professor of Preventive Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (ISMMS), New York, and Manager of Statistics Research Support Services at Atlantic Health System (AHS), New Jersey, 2006-2014. Dr. Bustami also served as Associate Professor and Statistical Consultant at King Saud Bin Abdul-Aziz University for Health Sciences (KSAU-HS), Riyadh, KSA, 2015-2017.  He has presented at numerous national and international conferences and scientific meetings and has published over 85 articles in high-impact peer-reviewed journals, book chapters and proceedings. Dr. Bustami served as a lead investigator in numerous public health and HCM research projects and is internationally recognized through his service as a senior consultant on the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Review Panel for Population Health and Health Disparities grant applications. He is also a member on several executive committees on HCM, public health, clinical research and Statistics education.
