Dr. Ahmed Alanazi is the chair of the Finance department at the College of Business (CoB) at Alfaisal University since January 2020. Ahmed has accomplished his Ph.D. in Finance at Griffith University, Australia, 2013. His Ph.D. thesis titled "Three Essays on Initial Public Offerings: Evidence from the Six Countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council". The thesis was an extensive empirical and theoretical examination of the IPOs performances that occurred in the GCC region between 2003 and 2010. He has also emphasized greatly on research based work and has published many articles in prominent international journals including the European Journal of Finance, the Applied Economics, and the Multinational Financial Management. His research interests extend to cover the financial markets in the GCC, IPOs, technical analysis, and corporate governance. In addition Dr. Ahmed won several grants with the Capital Market Authority the CMA, Faisal bin Fahad research award. Currently, Dr. Ahmed is investigating the governance standards among Saudi sports clubs. He had also won the outstanding research award for the academic year 2019/2020 within the college of business.
