Dominic received a Master of Arts Degree in Applied Linguistics from the University of Birmingham (UK), and achieved a Merit in the University of Cambridge DELTA (Module 2). Since gained teaching certification in 2009, he has taught students from diverse backgrounds, ages and abilities in the UK, South Korea, Thailand, Bahrain, and now Saudi Arabia.
Throughout his career, Dominic has made extensive use of technology in the classroom, enhancing learning through the use of iPads, Moodle and online forums in university entrance exam preparatory programs. In Bahrain, he taught speaking and composition to adult learners - including those from the national oil company BAPCO - with a focus on CVs/resumes, on-the-job communication, and report writing.
Dominic’s research interests lie in the field of sociolinguistics, and include the linguistic presentation of migrants in journalism, and the institutional discourse of the police. Presently, he is pursuing a PhD in Englsh (Linguistics) through Birmingham City University (UK).
