Dr James Ryan is an internationally experienced academic in the fields of Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management with a demonstrated history of research and teaching successes in the higher education environment. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Business from Dublin City University, Master of Arts (MA) in Social and Organizational Psychology, and Bachelor of Science with Honors (BSc Hons) in Psychology from University College Dublin. He is a Legate of the Academy of Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Knowledge (ACIEK-formerly GIKA) and a Government of Ireland Scholar. Dr James has published in journals such as Journal of Business Research, Journal of Business Ethics, Scientometrics, Personnel Review and R&D Management. He has received numerous research excellence awards at College, University and National level. Most recently he received the first-place research award from the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources of the United Arab Emirates in 2018 for his work on employee turnover and research performance in higher education. Current research interests are focused on the factors affecting research performance and its measurement, responsible research practices in business and management, and the issue of replication in business and social science research. Dr James is also a committed educator and has received teaching excellence awards from his colleagues at the Departmental and College levels. Having worked in Ireland, New Zealand, United Arab Emirates and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr James has considerable experience in working with diverse student groups and works diligently to encourage a positive, safe and enjoyable learning environment for his students.
