Abstract
In an era marked by unprecedented global migration trends, comprehending the intricacies of meaningful work for vulnerable populations (e.g., migrant workers) becomes imperative. Through a thorough review of existing literature and empirical studies, this chapter strives to pinpoint the key factors contributing to the perception of meaningful work for migrant workers especially those with a culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) background. It delves into the intricate interplay of factors such as cultural adaptation, social integration, workplace conditions, and personal aspirations, elucidating how these elements converge to shape the migrant worker experience. Based on this review, the chapter will then lay the groundwork for future research endeavors and offer actionable insights to foster the flourishing of migrant workers within diverse work environments. Moreover, this chapter underscores the practical ramifications of comprehending meaningful work for migrant CALD workers, underscoring potential benefits for both individuals and the organizations that employ them. Overall, by addressing the nuances of meaningful work in this context, this chapter aims to guide policymakers, employers, and researchers regarding strategies that can elevate the well-being and productivity of migrant CALD workers.
