Dr Ruba Hamed is an Assistant Professor in Accounting at Alfaisal University, KSA. Hamed recently joined the College of Business Administration in 2022. She holds a PhD in Accounting from Portsmouth University, UK (2019), an MBA-Accounting (Jordan University), and BSc in Accounting Information System with first-class honours (Jordan University).
Dr Hamed has extensive professional and academic experience in accounting. She worked as a Senior Cost Accountant at TAG org, a Financial Trustee at Brighton Peace and Environment Centre (BPEC), and a Main Accountant at Shanghai Mitsubishi. She also taught and trained students and professionals at Germany University, Jordan, Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Society (TAGKS), Jordan University, and Injaz Non-Profit Org.
Her research interests mainly lay in Accounting and Sustainability, especially Accounting and Governance (Corporate governance and financial reporting – Earnings Management; Ethics and Sustainability (social & environmental accounting – corporate social responsibility). Her work has been published in leading academic journals including the International Journal of Accounting, Auditing, and taxation. Her teaching interests cut across Accounting, having taught modules, such as Financial Accounting; Management Accounting; Cost Accounting and Accounting Information systems to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Dr Hamed is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and has several certified certificates, such as Certified Professional Trainer (CPT and TOT), Small and Medium Enterprises Toolbox (SME’s), How to be a Leadership; Success Skills; Work Ethics certificates.
