Prior to joining Alfaisal University in August 2022, Dr. Mishal was an Economist at the U.S. Census Bureau in Washington, D.C., USA. He also served as an Assistant Professor of Public Policy at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia, USA from 2019 to 2020 and as a Lecturer of Economics at Yanbu University College in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia from 2012 to 2014.

Dr. Mishal graduated with a Ph.D. in Economics from Georgia Tech in Atlanta, USA in 2019, an M.A. in Economics in 2011 from the University of Houston in Houston, USA and a Bachelor’s in Business Administration in 2006 from the University of Dhaka in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

He has published in the journal “Information Economics and Policy” and his research interests include the digital economy and applications of machine learning.
