Dr Muthanna Al-Baldawi has a high academic and industrial experience in pharmaceutical sciences and drug delivery. He actively participated in running of different dosage forms manufacturing facilities for 6 years and four years’ experience in drug audit and quality control. He did his master's degree in pharmaceutical technology followed by a PhD at Cardiff university where he was appointed to a PhD fellowship as part of an EC FP7 funded programme (ALEXANDER). Followed that, he worked for 6 years at Cardiff University where he set collaborations with different academic and industrial partners in the Europe and globally. His main research interest is synthesis of polymeric nanoparticles using RAFT polymerisation technique, designing of different nano-systems for drug delivery, mucosal delivery, bacterial biofilms mechanical and micro-rheological characterisation, skin delivery, oral delivery of protein, medication of cystic fibrosis, medication of chronic wounds and pharmacokinetics studies. During his work at Cardiff University, Dr Muthanna Al-Baldawi has 3 successful grant applications, he also achieved collaboration with different partners in Europe which led to high quality publications in nature and science publishers. Dr Muthanna has involved in co-supervising of PhD and master's degree students and teaching of different programs.

Currently, Dr Muthanna is a faculty member at the College of Pharmacy at Alfaisal University. As assistant professor in pharmaceutics, he is involved in teaching of different topics.
