In 1997, Dr. Adeola Tawakalitu Kola-Mustapha obtained a First-Class Honours degree (BSc) in Pharmacology from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. Thereafter, in 2004 and 2007 respectively, earned a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B Pharm) degree and a Master of Science (MSc) with Distinction degree in Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology from the University of Lagos. In 2014, she graduated from De Montfort University (DMU), Leicester, UK with a PhD in Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology. Her doctoral work concentrated on creating innovative polymeric nanoconjugates for delivery of poorly soluble drugs.

From 2010 until 2015, she was employed by the Leicester School of Pharmacy DMU as a part-time lecturer and technical demonstrator. She had a brief stint as the Research and Health Services Development Manager, at Koasta Ltd T/A Leys Pharmacy, Oxford, United Kingdom prior to joining the Department of Pharmaceutics and Industrial Pharmacy University of Ilorin in 2015, where she is a Reader at the Department of Pharmaceutics and Industrial Pharmacy. She graduated with a PharmD from University of Benin, Nigeria (2019), and a PGDE from University of Ilorin (2017). She is an Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutics at the College of Pharmacy Alfaisal University, Riyadh KSA.

She is presently engaged in research initiatives pertaining to pharmaceutical drug development, drug delivery, pharmaceutical material characterisation, and natural product formulation. She has actively presented her research at national and international conferences throughout the years, and she has over 50 peer-reviewed publications to her name.

 

She is a member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP), The Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences, United Kingdom (APSGB), American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists, United States (AAPS), Canadian Society for Pharmaceutical Sciences (CSPS), and Council member (Medical Sciences Representative) of the Science Association of Nigeria (SAN).
