Biography

Dr. Ali Hendaoui received his PhD from Sorbonne Paris Nord University in 2008. During his studies, he worked on the optimization of innovative processes for the synthesis of out-of-equilibrium advanced materials at low cost. As a postdoctoral fellow at the "Institut national de la recherche scientifique (Canada)", Dr. Hendaoui worked on the development of vanadium dioxide-based smart thin films and devices for miniaturized satellites.  Later on, he worked as a research associate at the same institute and was responsible of the activities related to advanced nanomaterials synthesis using plasma-based processes.

Dr. Hendaoui’s research interests include nanomaterials and their applications in energy (Harvesting, Efficiency). In particular, Dr. Hendaoui’s work focuses on controlling the functional properties of nanomaterials through the composition and morphology and their incorporation into devices for innovative energy-related applications. Smart materials (such as those experiencing reversible Metal-to-Insulator transitions) and novel functional nanomaterials (such as Graphene) are of a high interest.
