Professor of Chemistry

He earned his B. Sc. in applied Chemistry in 1993 from Jordan University of Science and Technology, followed by his M. Sc. in Organic Chemistry in 1997 from Tennessee State University. In 2004, he received his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Virginia Commonwealth University. Alongside his intense teaching and industrial experience, he has also achieved significant scholarly milestones, including US patents. His research interests include designing, synthesizing, and characterizing nanomaterials and polymer nanocomposites for hydrogen and clean energy applications such as electrochemical energy storage (rechargeable batteries, capacitors, hydrogen storage). His major goal is to gain insights into structure-property relationships with respect to nanocomposites' physical and chemical properties for Energy and Environmental Applications.

Research interests are in the general areas of molecular clusters, gas phase and cluster polymerization,  nanostructured and polymer nanocomposites materials containg graphene nansheets and metal nanoparticles. The major goal is to gain insights as to how the properties of matter evolve as the size of a material system ranges from molecular to macroscopic dimensions.
