Dr. Muhammad Anan is currently the Acting Dean for the College of Engineering at Alfaisal University, Saudi Arabia. He is an Associate Professor of Software Engineering. Dr. Anan holds a Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering and Telecommunications Networking from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, USA (2008). He received a M.S. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia, USA, and a M.S. degree in Software Engineering from Kansas University, USA, in 1999 and 2003, respectively. Dr. Anan received his B.S. degree in Computer Engineering form King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Saudi Arabia, in 1997.
Dr. Anan has more than 20 years of Professional and Academic Experiences. He has over ten years of industrial experience working for two of the Fortune 500 US companies, namely Sprint and IBM, in the fields of telecommunications and Software Engineering. Also, he taught at Purdue University Calumet (currently called Purdue Northwest), USA for six years before joining Alfaisal University in 2014.
Dr. Anan published at prestigious refereed international journals and conferences such as the Elsevier Journal of Network and Computer Applications, the Springer Journal of Requirements Engineering, the Wiley Journal of Software Maintenance and Evolution, the Journal of Selected Areas in Telecommunications, the IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC), the IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM), the IEEE International Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing conference (IWCMC). Dr. Anan served as a publication co-chair, Technical Program Committee Member (TPC), and session chair at several IEEE conferences such as the International Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing Conference (IWCMC). Dr. Anan was selected to serve as an Associate Editor for the Wiley Journal of Wireless Communications & Mobile Computing (WCMC) from 2011 to 2016.
Dr. Anan’s main research and teaching interests are in the areas of computer networks, cloud computing, internet of things, software defined networking, future internet architectures, wireless sensor networks, embedded systems, computer architecture, and software engineering. He serves as a technical program committee member and reviewer for many international conferences and journals. Dr. Anan is a senior member of the IEEE.
