Background

Dr Nurmawati Muhammad Hanafiah is a chemist with degrees from the National University of Singapore. She has an in-service teaching qualification and was a lecturer at the School of Applied Sciences (ASc), Temasek Polytechnic (TP) in Singapore. From 2011 to 2015, Dr Nurmawati was the section-head for chemistry in TP with responsibility for 18 staff including 6 PhD holders. In this position, she was responsible for all chemistry courses and laboratories offered at ASc, TP. Dr Nurmawati is passionate about chemistry education and have experience ranging from curriculum development to student mentoring. Dr Nurmawati was engaged with accreditation bodies such as Singapore Accreditation Council and government agencies such as Singapore Police Force, Health Sciences Authority, Singapore.

    • Internal audit training for Brunei Public Works Department and Brunei Veterinary Labs. Services Unit

    • Seconded by Temasek Polytechnic from Jun. 2014 to Dec. 2015
    • Independent assessor since Dec. 2015 to present

    • Performed ISO/IEC 17025 internal audit for accredited laboratory in Temasek Polytechnic

    • Post-doctoral research engineer working on applications of quantum dots.
