• Academic Leadership: Served on the Medical School Board at Anhembi Morumbi University (Brazil), as Assistant Dean of Biotechnology, Khalifa University (UAE), providing strategic direction on intellectual property and technology commercialization. Led curriculum development for research, technology, and innovation within the Medical Colleges. Spearheaded Institutional Review Boards (IRBs) in Brazil and the UAE.

• Biopharmaceutical R&D: Held senior research and leadership positions at Speedel (Switzerland) and The Medicines Company (MDCO) (Germany - USA - Canada). At Speedel, spearheaded the translational R&D of Aliskiren, the first direct renin inhibitor. At MDCO, spearheaded research on novel serine protease inhibitors, overseeing preclinical and clinical studies, scientific medical support, licensing and strategic partnerships.
