Course Description:EE 490 course intends to tackle a challenging design project that involves the use of engineering interdisciplinary skills with specific emphasis on the field of electrical/electronic engineering. It also attempts to enhance students’ ability to bridge the analytical knowledge gained from EE curriculum and real-world applications of electrical/electronic technologies. The course emphasizes practical experience, and integrates analytical and design skills. Students will develop skills in design problem solving, creative thinking, project planning, and teamwork, as well as developing technical and practical skills in the particular areas covered by their projects. They are expected to work collaboratively in teams approved by EE department, and under direct supervision of an EE faculty member.
Course Description:Mathematical description and classification of various signals and systems: introduction to mathematical software packages (e.g. MATLAB), continuous linear time-invariant systems, convolution and correlation, Fourier series, Laplace and z-transform, impulse and pulse responses, step responses, frequency responses. Filters, Introduction to feedback control including concepts of stability and robustness.
