Eng. Alia Abubakr is Mechanical Engineering hold Master degree in Renewable Energy Technology from Khartoum University. Before joining Alfaisal University as Mechanical Engineering Instructor, Alia Abubakr was part time teaching assistant in Khartoum University -Mechanical Engineering Department teaching mechanical engineering drawing course ,also she  spent about ten years in MEP industry as senior mechanical design engineer where she had an excellent input in many MEP industry .Her research during the Master program was design of hybrid solar / conventional heating system for an absorption chiller   , starting from that research her professional interests focus on the Sustainable Development and Green Building  also the use of renewable technology to combat climate change  .Alia Abubakr earned an professional certificates from United State Green Building Council  (LEED BD+C , LEED O+M) and also CEM. She is USGBC Faculty Member ,  a member of American Society of Heating , Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineer ASHRAE, and AEE Association of Energy Engineers .

Recently ,November 2024  earned Mostadam AP certificate مستدام معتمد

Alia Abubakr joined Alfaisal university in Spring 2018 , she is teaching most of the  mechanical engineering  lab, Thermal Fluid I lab 206L ,Thermal Fluid II 307L , Materials Science I 201L ,Mechanics of Materials 208L ,Manufacturing and workshop training lab Instrumentation and Controls 306L and Finite Element Analysis 403L .

Experiences in materials sciences and mechanics of materials, thermal fluid , Autodesk  CAD drawing software ,& ANSYS .

Alia Abubakr received The Teaching Award for two academic years , 2021-2022 and 2023-2024.
