Brief Biography

Abd-Elhamid M. Taha is a Senior Member of IEEE. He earned his B.Sc. (Honors) and M.Sc. from Kuwait University in 1999 and 2002, respectively, and completed his Ph.D. from Queen’s University, Canada, in 2007. Currently, he is an associate professor in electrical engineering at Alfaisal University, where he also served as the inaugural director of research and innovation. In addition, he holds an adjunct post at the School of Computing at Queen’s. Abd-Elhamid has extensive administrative experience in academia and is an ABET program evaluator under the Computing Accreditation Commission, underlining his deep involvement in program assessment and accreditation. His primary research interests lie in computer networks and communications, with a particular emphasis on Internet of Things (IoT) services and connected cyber-physical systems. Recently, he has delved into the combined areas of affective sensing, AI, and IoT. He serves as an associate editor for the IEEE Communications Magazine and as an Area Editor for the IEEE Canadian Journal of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
