Dr. Hayat Khan (Gold Medalist) graduated with a PhD from the University of Melbourne in 2006. He started his full-time career as Assistant Professor at La Trobe University. Dr. Khan has won numerous academic awards including Kilmany Prize for outstanding performance in PhD coursework, a Gold Medal in MSc Economics, award of the best student in BSc (hons) and various awards for teaching innovations and outstanding contribution to student learning at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He co-designed award winning graduate and executive programs at La Trobe and acted as director of the Islamic Finance program. Dr. Khan’s current research focuses on welfare economics, corporate governance, and behavioural economics/finance with particular interest in issues in Islamic economics and finance. Dr Khan recent publications appeared in The World Economy, Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization, Pacific-Basin Finance Journal, Applied Economics Letters, International, JKAU: Islamic Economics, and International Journal of Happiness and Development.
