KAIZEN in production management: In the Japanese production system, it is noted that "KAIZEN" is a feedback action to continuously improve the quality, cost and delivery of products or services.
(Afternoon Session)
Definition and steps of KAIZEN: "KAIZEN" is defined as a small change of the method. Its meaning and KAIZEN steps are illustrated, used examples which were collected from Japanese and world companies.
KAIZEN suggestion system vs Suggestion system: KAIZEN suggestion system is always compared with the Suggestion system. Difference and advantages of the KAIZEN suggestion system is explained.
Industrial application: 5S activities: Seiri, Seiton, Seiketsu, Shitsuke, are five steps for improvement. Especially, Shitsuke is a key of the total success. 5S campaign is now spread as world-wide industrial activities. Industrial applications of 5S activities in Japan are shown by pictures. JIT applications: The JIT production system includes many secrets to realize a smooth material flow. These secrets are Kanban, Poka-yoke, SMED which are known as applications of the KAIZEN concept. Toyota's KAIZEN mind is presented.
